REMINDER – UK trans survey on domestic violence

August 2, 2009

Spectrum London logoDenise at Spectrum London has reminded me that the closing date for the UK trans survey on domestic violence is September 1st.

As Denise says:

The push is on… less then a month now for this online survey, a very important online survey, if you are Gender Variant, and have not taken this please spend the time to do so… 15 mins is all it takes, gives us all the info you can please, even if you have not experienced DV please take the survey. If it seems to reset itself at 47%, hit the backspace on your browser, wait for the browser to settle & carry on.

All trans women in the UK are urged to complete the survey, even if they themselves haven’t been subject to domestic violence.

In previous research carried out by Brighton’s Spectrum LGBT Forums Count Me In Too project (link here), along with Press For Change’s research in their Endangered Penalties report (direct link to PDF), it was shown that an alarming figure of 64% of Trans people had experienced Domestic Violence at some time.
