Spanish trans man suffers miscarriage

June 11, 2009

I wrote a couple of months ago (link here) about Ruben Noe Coronado, who postponed his transition and fell pregnant with twins after undergoing fertility treatment when doctors told his partner she couldn’t have any more children.

I think this was a very generous and brave thing to do, so I’m sad to see – via the Daily Telegraph (link here) – that he has suffered a miscarriage.

My thoughts are with Ruben and his family.

Oh that’s heartbreaking. Poor man, his poor girlfriend, what an awful time :(

And also what is with the quotation marks around the word man in the Telegraph? Please, I mean, there’s never a good time for that kind of thing in the first place but right now? Could they get any more insensitive?

I’m a little stunned by the actual article; they got his gender right every time! But why with the ‘born a woman’ stuff? Also; not even the most cisgendered woman is born a woman!

Anyway. My thoughts are with them both, I hope they’re more successful when they try again.
