A Transsexual Perspective on the Feminist Debate

December 5, 2008

Facebook trans logoThe mass debate (oh joy, schoolyard humour) between Susan Stryker and Julie Bindel – which I previously flagged up in this post – is to be webcast at http://www.streaming.mmu.ac.uk/law/webcast/ today at 2pm (UK time), for anyone interested.

This has been a public service announcement (and not an advert)

Nostalgia Corner: Back in the summer I tried to follow my niece’s graduation webcast from Manchester Uni.

The quality was rubbish.

thanks. I’m watching it (they’re on a break). JB still seems to have no cencept that the hormones make a difference. she thinks I could have been a “woman” without transitioning.
It’s the difference between “being” and merely “playing at”. I hated being a transvestite, it didn’t work for me, couldn’t see the point. Hormones fixed my pain in 6 weeks.

The surgery was made inevitable by the changes the hormones made. Staying a male was simply not an option and she just doesn’t understand and refuses to engage with that ignorance.

So, on a scale of 1 to 10 Bindels, how horrible was she?

Heh! I was lucky enough to miss it, but at a guess I’d imagine she was totally off the scale! (Mobile blogging now, truly I’m doomed ^_^)
